Niroshan Dickwella has been added to Sri Lanka's Twenty20 squad to face India as cover for the injured Tillakaratne Dilshan.
The experienced Dilshan is reportedly suffering from a hand injury, although Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) confirmed he is expected to be available for the second T20 against India on Friday.
In the meantime, wicketkeeper-batsman Dickwella, who has played four Tests and a solitary one-day international for his country, comes into contention ahead of Tuesday's series opener in Pune.
An SLC statement read: "The national selectors included Niroshan Dickwella for the Indian tour in place of the injured TM Dilshan.
"Niroshan was adjudged the best batsman of the Super T20 provincial tournament which concluded yesterday [Friday].
"TM Dilshan is expected to join the team from the 2nd T20 onwards. The national team captained by Dinesh Chandimal left for India this morning."
