Ginobili sidelined after surgery for testicular injury

San Antonio Spurs shooting guard Manu Ginobili underwent surgery after suffering a testicular injury against the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday.

Ginobili, 38, is expected to miss at least a month but is out indefinitely, the Spurs said in a statement.

Despite nearing the end of his career, Ginobili is shooting 45.1 percent from the field while averaging 10 points, 3.3 assists and three rebounds per game in 19.7 minutes off the bench.

Rookie Jonathon Simmons and back-up point guard Patty Mills will likely have expanded roles with Ginobili sidelined.
