Jasprit Bumrah has been called up to India's Twenty20 squad for the upcoming three-match series with Australia.
Seamer Bumrah comes into the squad as a replacement for Mohammed Shami, who was ruled out of India's tour of Australia with a hamstring injury earlier this month - Bhuvneshwar Kumar having taken Shami's place in the one-day squad.
India have already lost the ODI series, with Australia holding a 3-0 lead in the five-match series following a three-wicket win at the MCG on Sunday.
"It is a wonderful feeling. I was expecting this since I was on standby," Bumrah told the Board Of Control For Cricket In India website. "But still, it is a very nice feeling. I cannot really describe it.
"We have been playing matches non-stop and you don't get the time to really sit and process all that is happening in your life.
"Maybe on the flight to Australia, when I have a lot of time on my hand, it will start to sink in."
The 22-year-old, who plays for Gujarat domestically and for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League, has 52 wickets in 47 T20 matches at an average of 24.53.
Adelaide hosts the first of three T20 international on January 26, followed by matches in Melbourne and Sydney.
