Shami out of Australia tour, Bhuvneshwar called up

Mohammed Shami has been ruled out of India's tour of Australia due to a hamstring injury, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar called-up to replace the seamer.

Shami is expected to be out for four to six weeks as a result of the strain which prevented him from bowling in the Twenty20 victory against a Western Australia XI on Friday.

The 25-year-old had only just returned after a long lay-off following knee surgery and now faces another frustrating spell on the sidelines.

Bhuvneshwar was expensive during the ODI series defeat against South Africa last October, but has been given the nod to join up with the squad on Sunday

India start a five-match ODI series against world champions Australia at the WACA on Tuesday.
