Odom leaves hospital nearly three months after overdose

Former NBA star Lamar Odom has been transferred from a Los Angeles hospital to a private facility, his family have announced.

A statement released by Odom's family read, "It is with extreme gratitude and appreciation to all of you around the world who have prayed without ceasing for Lamar, that we announce his transition to the next stage of his miraculous recovery at a new facility, Lamar continues to make remarkable strides."

No additional details were provided on Odom's condition.

Odam - who won two NBA titles with the Los Angeles Lakers - was found unconscious in October while at a Nevada brothel following a suspected binge of alcohol and drugs over the course of four days.

He spent the next couple of days in a drug-induced coma but has since made significant progress in his recovery.

When Odom was transferred from Las Vegas to Los Angeles in October, his family said he was undergoing therapy, was more responsive and had increased use of speech.

Odom has since begun to walk on his own and remember faces of hospital employees.
