De Colo stars as CSKA beat Real, Olympiacos go top

Nando de Colo inspired CSKA Moscow to a 95-81 Euroleague Top 16 victory over defending champions Real Madrid on Thursday.

Real were unable to contain the France international guard in the Russian capital, as he racked up 28 points and provided seven assists to ensure CSKA claimed a first Group F victory.

Pablo Laso's Real side, who beat Brose Baskets in their opening Top 16 game, led 18-12 in the first quarter but were unable to build on that advantage as CSKA took charge and went on to secure an emphatic victory.

CSKA edged into a 22-20 lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back, going 50-41 up at half-time and refusing to allow the champions a way back into the contest.

Milos Teodosic scored 23 points and also laid on seven assists for the hosts, while a 23-point haul from K.C. Rivers was not enough to prevent nine-time champions Real from being second best.

Olympiacos saw off Laboral Kutxa 82-76 to move above their opponents into top spot in Group F.

The three-time champions appeared to be coasting to victory when they led by 17 points in the third quarter, but the hosts made a game of it before being consigned to their first Top 16 defeat.

Captain Vassilis Spanoulis led the way with 19 points and Georgios Printezis chipped in with 15 to move Olympiacos to the summit.

Barcelona got up and running in Group F with a comfortable 87-70 home victory over Khimki, Juan Carlos Navarro and Pau Ribas scoring 14 points apiece for the Spanish giants.

Cedevita claimed their first win in Group E, prevailing 79-72 on the road in a clash with a Darussafaka side who have now lost their first two matches.
