Clutterbuck delivers Islanders win, Panthers win nine straight

There was controversy as the New York Islanders defeated Dallas 6-5, despite a late comeback from the Stars.

Cal Clutterbuck scored two important goals to set up the win after he was checked by Jason Demers, who was assessed a five-minute major and a game misconduct for boarding.

Stars coach Lindy Ruff suggested Clutterbuck played for the penalty saying: "I think the guy that got hit has a history of diving.

"I looked at the play, I don't think [Demers] elbowed him, I don't think he did anything really."

Clutterbuck was joined on the scoresheet by team-mates Anders Lee, Kyle Okposo (two) and Mikhail Grabovski, as the Islanders picked up their third win in five games.

Jaromir Jagr scored his 12th and 13th goals of the season to help the Florida Panthers to a ninth straight win, defeating the Minnesota Wild 2-1.

Jagr scored goals in the first and third periods, either side of Jason Zucker's goal for the Wild.

The Chicago Blackhawks recorded a comfortable 3-0 win over the Ottawa Senators, who lost their third game in a row.

Chicago goaltender Corey Crawford made 26 saves in the shut out.

Elsewhere, the Anaheim recorded a comfortable 4-1 win over the Winnipeg Jets, with Corey Perry scoring his 14th goal of the season for the Ducks.
