Steyn out of second Test

South Africa will be without Dale Steyn as they look to square their series with England in the second Test at Newlands, which begins on Saturday.

The fast bowler - who missed the majority of the recent 3-0 series defeat in India with a groin injury - returned to fitness in time for the opening Test in Durban, but was forced from the field in England's second innings with a shoulder problem.

After falling to a 241-run defeat at Kingsmead, South Africa were hopeful of having Steyn back in time for the second Test, but the short turnaround of two days between matches has proved insufficient.

Proteas captain Hashim Amla confirmed in a news conference on Friday that Steyn would miss out, with Kagiso Rabada set to deputise in the pace attack.
