Malcolm Delaney scored a career-high 31 points as Lokomotiv Kuban got off to a winning in start in Group E of the Top 16 by overcoming Cedevita Zagreb 89-75.

The 26-year-old was pivotal to the Russian side beating Barcelona to top spot in Group C during the regular season and he sunk 100 per cent of his six field-goal efforts, five out of nine three-pointers and four of his five free-throws to finish with a commanding total.

Delaney scored 24 points in the first half before supplying the majority of his eight assists after half-time as Lokomotiv never looked in danger of suffering defeat.

Dario Saric sunk the game-winning basket to bring Anadolu Istanbul back from a 15-point to beat Crvena Zvezda 85-84.

Maik Zirbes led Zvezda's charge with a double-double of 22 points and 12 rebounds as the Serbian side took a 70-55 lead late in the third quarter.

However, Istanbul mounted a late surge with Saric scoring a two-pointer with 3.1 seconds remaining to ensure his side secured a fourth straight win.

Fenerbahce made the most of an impressive opening to hold off Panathinaikos for an 82-75 win in Group E, maintaining their 100 per cent home record this season.

The Turkish side trailed for just 17 seconds on the night and led by double digits in the first quarter following a strong spell that saw them go 14-0.

In Group F, Laboral Kutxa earned a brilliant 89-68 win at Zalgiris Kaunas, with five players scoring at double figures.

Darius Adams led the way with 16 points, and although Zalgiris closed in on a deficit of 27 to head into half-time at 55-40, they were unable to complete the comeback after the interval.

Real Madrid edged out Brose Baskets 82-79 in a tense match, stretching their winning streak to three matches.
