Shaun Marsh is the unlucky Australia batsman to make way for Usman Khawaja for the second Test against West Indies.
The in-form Khawaja's return from a hamstring injury gave selectors a tough decision to make and Marsh's dropping was confirmed on Friday.
Captain Steve Smith confirmed Marsh, coming off a 182 in Hobart, would make way after his highest ever Test score.
Opener Joe Burns was also under pressure after struggling for runs since impressing in the first Test against New Zealand.
There were no other surprises for Australia, who will have Scott Boland as 12th man at the MCG.
The Windies have promised an improved showing after being embarrassed in the series opener.
