Rangers win ninth straight, Kane leads Blackhawks


The New York Rangers made it nine straight NHL wins on Sunday as the Chicago Blackhawks claimed an easy victory.

Mats Zuccarello had a goal and two assists as the Rangers continued their form run with a 4-3 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Zuccarello struck when it mattered most, breaking a 3-3 tie with his goal with 54 seconds remaining at Madison Square Garden.

It marked the first time since 1972-73 that the Rangers have won nine consecutive games.

Ryan McDonagh set up Zuccarello's late winner, adding to his second-period goal which tied the game.

The Rangers are well clear atop the Metropolitan Division after their latest win.

A three-goal second period set up the Chicago Blackhawks' 4-1 victory over the Calgary Flames at United Center.

Patrick Kane scored once, tying the game, and set up a goal for the Blackhawks.

Marian Hossa also had two points with a goal and an assist, with Artemi Panarin and Jonathan Toews also on the scoresheet.
