Connacht's return journey from an away match in Siberia become a lengthy ordeal after a fault with their plane left them unable to return to Ireland following a Challenge Cup match against Enisei-STM on Saturday.
The Pro12 side, who won the game in 31-14, were scheduled to return home on Saturday, but a technical problem delayed their journey.
By Monday they had made it from Krasnoyarsk Airport to Moscow, with the squad due to then return to Ireland via different flights.
Forward Aly Muldowney tweeted to say the players were "still stranded", though he later added that there was "light at the end of the tunnel hopefully".
Connacht's Twitter account had indicated that the team would take to the skies on Monday, with a home Challenge Cup match against Brive this weekend to prepare for.
