Garcia and Chirico to contest Limoges final

Third seed Caroline Garcia will be the favourite to win the Open de Limoges final after beating Katerina Siniakova in three sets on Saturday.

Garcia, the world number 35, triumphed 6-3 5-7 6-3 to set up a final meeting with teenager Louisa Chirico.

A routine win looked set to come the way of the Frenchwoman when she claimed the only break of the first set.

However, Siniakova forced a decider before eventually bowing out of the competition.

Chirico came through a gruelling second set to beat Francesca Schiavone, the 2010 French Open champion, 6-3 7-6 (7-5).

Schiavone struggled badly on her second serve throughout the opener as she was broken on three occasions.

The veteran showed her battling qualities to force a tie-breaker in the second set, against a player 16 years her junior, yet it was Chirico who prevailed.
