Liverpool legend and new LA Galaxy signing Steven Gerrard finally arrived in Los Angeles, but only a few fans showed up to greet him.
Gerrard landed in Los Angeles with his wife Alex this weekend as he begins his adventure playing for the LA Galaxy in the MLS.
Unlike the other favourite sons of Liverpool touching down in America, however, this was far from Beatlemania, reports The Independent.
Only a handful of fans turned out to greet the 35-year-old stateside, where he signed a couple of shirts.
Galaxy announced that they will be unveiling their long-awaited new player this Saturday in a July 4 extravaganza at their stadium.
Gerrard recently returned from holiday in Ibiza, after ending 17 glorious years with his boyhood club.
The midfielder is expected to make his debut for the MLS club on 11 July against Club America.
LA Galaxy boss Bruce Arena believes that the move across the pond will provide a new and welcome challenge for Gerrard, both on and off the pitch.
"I think having played his entire career at Liverpool and living in England his entire life, this will be a breath of fresh air for him," he said.
"It will be an exciting challenge and I think he's going to really enjoy the experience."
Gerrard is not the only Premier League legend on their way to the MLS, as Frank Lampard is also expected to touch down in the United States in the coming weeks.
