These pictures from the Hamleys Christmas Toy Parade will bring you Christmas cheer

Updated:

Regent Street in London was closed off to vehicles for a very important reason on Sunday. The second annual Hamleys Christmas Toy Parade saw some of our favourite TV and film characters take part in a 1.5 mile parade in the area surrounding Hamleys' flagship store.

Crowds flooded to the area as children and adults waited to meet their favourite characters and watch entertainment from a stage outside the store.

Forget celebrity red carpet photos, let's take a look at who braved the cold and showed up to this Christmas extravaganza.

The Hamleys elves were in attendance, keeping everyone in check.

Huge balloon versions of some recognisable faces paraded through the streets.

For us, the parade officially signalled the beginning of Christmas. Bring on the festive spirit!
