Greggs has listened to the pleas of the nation and decided to launch its first delivery service.
The bakery chain, based in the North-East, is trialling the scheme in Newcastle with a view to expanding it nationwide if it's a success - and we're betting it will be.
According to the Newcastle Chronicle, Greggs Delivered begins in North Tyneside at Cobalt Business Park, where it's chosen to test the new service.
From now, the 14,000-plus workforce at the park will be able to order from a selection of platters to single sandwiches and sweet treats from the Greggs at the Cobalt Central retail area and get it delivered to their office door.
Raymond Reynolds, Greggs's Retail Director, said: "Convenience is key in the food-on-the-go market and we are extremely excited to offer delivery of a selection of our great-tasting, freshly prepared food directly to our customers by trialling a free delivery service in one of our Newcastle shops.
"We will be increasing the number of trial shops in the weeks ahead and will share more information on this as it becomes available."
Next on the list for Greggs Delivered is Newcastle city centre, followed by branches in London and Manchester.
