Labour officials have suspended three councillors in Bristol - and cost the party its majority on the city council.

The purge of thousands of Jeremy Corbyn supporters by the party's NEC has been seen as an attempt to boost Owen Smith's chances of winning the leadership election. But Corbyn is expected to be announced the winner, for a second time in 12 months, on Saturday.
