Waitrose and Netflix: A day in the life of Princess Eugenie

Princess Eugenie has posed for fashion magazine Harper's Bazaar, sharing the secrets of a day in her life.

The Queen's granddaughter - daughter of the Duke of York - revealed she shops at Waitrose, does her make-up in the car, finds heels tricky to walk in and likes to watch Netflix.

Eugenie was photographed in the opulent TV room of her family home, Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park, wearing a £7,500 pale pink lace and tulle gown with floral embroidery by Alberta Ferretti, with Bulgari earrings.

Eugenie added: "What might people be surprised to learn? That I have a full-time job." The princess is an associate director at contemporary art gallery Hauser & Wirth. "I've loved art since I was very little. I knew I definitely wouldn't be a painter, but I knew this was the industry for me," she added.

An early riser, she revealed she gets up around 6.45am and starts exercising at 7am.

"I do my make-up in the car. I'm really good at doing it on the move," she admitted.

She said she has started wearing "grown-up" heels, but confessed: "They're painful by the end of the day. I look at people wearing heels in movies and I'm like, 'How do they do that?'"

She listed chips, Diet Coke and cashew nuts as her indulgences, and vodka soda with lime as her favourite tipple. She goes to bed at midnight.

At one point, Eugenie referred to her mother Sarah, Duchess of York, by the name "Mumsy".

The 26-year-old princess told the US version of Harper's Bazaar she often spends her evenings at engagements related to her family or charities she is associated with, and spoke of helping her grandparents the Queen and the Duke Edinburgh.

"We also try to support Granny and Grandpa in any way we can because that is what family is for," she said.

The interview appears in the September edition of Harper's Bazaar US and on harpersbazaar.com.
