Hollyoaks actor Parry Glasspool has been suspended from the soap for posting a video in which he appeared to joke about domestic violence.
The 24-year-old, who plays student Harry Thompson on the Channel 4 drama, caused controversy with the video in which he wielded a knife.
Soap bosses have fined the actor an undisclosed sum, which Parry said he will donate to a domestic violence charity.
In a statement, he said: "I am truly sorry to anyone I have upset or offended.
"I would never condone domestic violence in any way and on reflection see that my video was insensitive and inappropriate."
The two-week suspension began on Monday night.
Parry is a regular cast member on the Channel 4 soap and joined the show last year.
The clip, now deleted from the actor's Instagram account, was posted in June and featured the actor waving a knife in front of the camera.
In the footage he took on the role of a woman warning her boyfriend about talking to other girls.
"I would kill you if you did ... With this knife I know exactly how to. Done it before and I'll do it again so don't even think about it," he said.
The incident came after he apologised for making a "date rape" joke about Love Island contestant Daniel Lukakis on Instagram.
