Snipers opened fire on police officers in the heart of Dallas, killing five officers and injuring six others during protests over two recent fatal police shootings of black men, police said. As local and national media rushed to cover the story, CNN were able to get an eye-witness on the phone.
However, confusion broke out as the phone-in interviewee was named as Michael Jackson.
