Care assistant charged with 'sex offences' at mental health unit

A healthcare assistant has been charged with a string of sex offences at a hospital's mental health unit.

Robert Roberts, 59, is charged with 14 counts of sexual assault and two of rape alleged to have been committed in 2014.

Nottinghamshire Police said the charges relate to incidents said to have taken place at Millbrook Mental Health Unit at Kingsmill Hospital, in Mansfield.

Roberts, from Sutton-in-Ashfield, in Nottinghamshire, is due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on July 25.
