In a short segment before the latest edition of Last Week Tonight With John Oliver, the British host took time to speak about the events in Orlando that saw 50 people murdered while partying in a night club.
Oliver implored his audience not to give any attention to Omar Mateen, the since killed man responsible for the murder of 50 souls, but instead the people trying to do good in the aftermath - using the example of Orlando residents queuing around the block to donate blood for the injured.
He also spoke about the pain being "familiar".
"Right now, this just hurts. And the worst thing is this pain is so familiar. In Paris last November terrorists seemed to target places symbolising everything that is wonderful about France...
"In Orlando early this morning the gunman attacked a Latin night at a gay club in the theme park capital of the world. And for the record, I will happily embrace a Latin night at a gay club in the theme park capital of the world as the ultimate symbol of what is truly wonderful about America."
