Two women walking their dogs were injured by stampeding cows.
The pair were hurt in a field of cattle in Burwash, East Sussex, just before 2.30pm on Thursday, East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said.
They had been walking their dogs in Batemans Lane when they were hurt by the cows with calves at heel. One woman suffered chest injuries and the other sustained minor injuries, Sussex Police said.
One patient was airlifted to Brighton's Royal Sussex County Hospital by air ambulance, while the second woman was taken to the Conquest Hospital in St Leonards-on-Sea.
The cows were driven into another field while emergency teams treated the pair.
Fire officials said the farmer was alerted to the incident, which happened behind the Bear Inn and Burwash Motel.
