Singer and producer Post Malone has explained photographs of him "choking" Justin Bieber inside a Houston nightclub.

Images of him with his hand around the Canadian pop star's neck came to light days after Bieber was pictured allegedly "stubbing a cigarette out" on Malone's arm.

Malone is one of the opening acts on 22-year-old Bieber's Purpose world tour.

He tweeted: "I love Justin y'all tripping lol", adding that the Sorry singer was his big brother and they "like to rough-house".

"If we was fighting someone would have done something instead of just sit around while the beibs gets chokeslammed," he explained.

Twenty-year-old Malone, whose real name is Austin Malone, added: "The end of story i love jus more than life."

Malone is best known for his song White Iverson and was also a contributor on Kanye West's latest album The Life Of Pablo.

Bieber also appeared to make light of the situation by posting a photo of himself with his right hand around Malone's neck on his Instagram account.

Alongside the photo Bieber wrote: "Backstreets back."

The Purpose world tour is due to finish its run in London at the end of the year.
