Taylor Swift scoops Grammy for 1989 before main show begins

Taylor Swift has won a Grammy Award before even arriving at the ceremony.

The singer scored the best pop vocal album award for her critically acclaimed record 1989.

The award was handed out during a non-televised ceremony ahead of the main presentation, which will be broadcast live on American television.

The Recording Academy tweeted Swift's win, to which she replied in capital letters: "I am screaming."

Her collaborator Jack Antonoff collected her gramophone award with Swift on the phone.

The Bleachers singer tweeted: "1989 just won pop vocal album!!!! accepted it with t on the phone. albums made in small apartments win grammys. into it @taylorswift13."

Comedian Louis CK won the best comedy album Grammy in the pre-broadcast ceremony for his Live At Madison Square Garden recording while Ricky Martin won best Latin pop album for A Quien Quiera Escuchar.

Oscar-winning track Glory, by Common, John Legend and Che Smith, won the award for best song written for visual media.
