'Burnley Express' cricketer James Anderson to receive OBE

Record-breaking bowler James Anderson will receive an OBE from the Prince of Wales for services to cricket.

The sportsman became England's leading Test wicket-taker last year, surpassing Sir Ian Botham's milestone of 383 - something Anderson labelled at the time as "fairytale stuff''.

The Lancastrian, known widely as the "Burnley Express", has gone on to amass more than 430 test wickets and will receive the honour from the Prince of Wales during a Buckingham Palace investiture ceremony.

Also being honoured is Loyd Grossman who will be made a a CBE for services to heritage.

Grossman became a familiar face on television presenting shows including Through The Keyhole and MasterChef but he also worked with English Heritage, the London School of Economics, the Churches Conservation Trust and and the Museums and Galleries Commission.

In 2009, he was appointed chairman of the Heritage Alliance which represents more than 95 voluntary organisations working in that sector, and he also runs his own successful food company.

Former Communities Secretary Sir Eric Pickles will be dubbed a knight by Charles during the investiture.

The Conservative will receive the honour of knighthood in recognition of his public service as an MP, a former Cabinet minister and his time in local government.

Sir Eric, who was first elected to Parliament in 1992, lost his frontbench role following the general election last year.
