Six teenagers charged with wounding a football supporter who was left in a coma are set to appear before a crown court judge.

Joseph Lister and Ryan Meer, both aged 18, are due to attend a plea hearing at Wolverhampton Crown Court alongside 19-year-olds Robert Beech and Daniel Lloyd.

The men and two schoolboys, aged 14 and 15, are accused of involvement in an attack on Watford supporter Nic Cruwys.

Mr Cruwys, from Hemel Hempstead, spent around four months in hospital after suffering a serious head injury following a match between Wolves and Watford last March.

Lloyd, of Longfellow Road, Dudley; Lister, of Palmer Close, Wednesfield, Wolverhampton; Beech, of Springhill Road, also Wednesfield, and Meer, of Watling Street, Gailey, Staffordshire, were charged after a lengthy inquiry by West Midlands Police.

The juvenile defendants, both from Wolverhampton, cannot be named because of their age.
