Cheryl Fernandez-Versini 'to divorce husband after just 19 months'

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini is to divorce her French husband after just 19 months of marriage because of his "unreasonable behaviour", it was reported.

The singer and X Factor judge is filing divorce papers formally to end her relationship with restaurateur Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini, the Sun On Sunday said.

The newspaper claimed the pop star was unhappy with her husband's jealousy over the amount of time she spent with other men and her dogs, Chihuahuas Buster and Coco.

The pair married in a small ceremony on Mustique in the Caribbean in August 2014, just three months after they met in Cannes, France.

But it was reported that Mr Fernandez-Versini grew uncomfortable with the amount of time she spent with male work colleagues such as X Factor supremo Simon Cowell.

The Sun on Sunday quoted a source as saying: "Cheryl is divorcing JB on the grounds of his unreasonable behaviour. She has had enough of his jealousy.

"He didn't like it when she had to spend time with other men and even became jealous when she was hanging out with her dogs."

The Sunday Mirror claimed the pair secretly split five months ago, and that she had realised they had married too soon after a whirlwind romance.

The former Girls Aloud star hinted at her unhappiness on New Year's Eve when she posted to Instagram a photograph of herself kissing her middle finger.

She wrote: "Bye 2015 ... you've been real!!!!! You have taught me a lot but I am happy to see the back of you!!"

Shortly after the reports of her divorce emerged she posted another picture, without a caption, of her pouting while apparently lying on a bed.

It will be Fernandez-Versini's second divorce after she and footballer Ashley Cole separated in 2010.

She is thought to have already started formal divorce proceedings, the Sun On Sunday said, with a decree nisi application expected to be lodged in the next few weeks.
