Police appeal for help to find missing schoolgirls

Updated

Detectives have launched an appeal to find three schoolgirls who have gone missing from their homes in London.

Abir Salah, 16, and Ahlam Salah, 15, who are sisters, and 13 year-old Fardowsa Hassan, from Wood Green, have not been seen for several days.

The Metropolitan Police said it is not thought the girls have left the country, and officers believe they may be sleeping on buses or elsewhere on the transport network.

The Met said: "All the girls' families are concerned for their welfare and urge them to contact them, or the police, to let them know they are safe and well."

Fardowsa and Abir were reported missing on December 6, and Ahlam was reported missing a week later on December 12.

Fardowsa is described as of Arabic appearance, 5ft 5ins tall and of medium build.

Abir is black, of Somali descent, 5ft 10ins tall and of medium build, and her sister Ahlam is also black and of Somali descent, and 5ft 5ins tall and of medium build.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Haringey Missing Persons Unit on 101.
