Warning as sex offender goes missing from secure hospital unit


A registered sex offender who has gone missing from a secure hospital unit could pose a threat to women, say police.

Richard Ayomanor, 38, absconded on a visit to a supermarket in Cheetham Hill, Manchester, with a support worker on Saturday.

Ayomanor was last seen shortly after 2.30pm.

He is described as black Caribbean, about 6ft 1in, and of medium build with brown eyes and black hair.

He speaks with a  strong Manchester accent and was last seen wearing a black body warmer, white T-shirt, black bottoms and a black baseball cap, carrying a dark bag.

A spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Police said: "Richard Ayomanor is a registered sex offender and police are concerned that he could pose a threat to women.

"Members of the public are asked not to approach this male but to contact the police with any sightings on 101 or Crimestoppers number 0800 555111."
