A woman who blackmailed a married man out of £7,000 by threatening to send photos of them having sex to his wife has been ordered to repay just £1.

Alison Banner, 40, from Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, was jailed for 15 months in August after admitting forcing the unnamed man to pay her thousands of pounds in hush money.

She told him a photographer had captured them having sex behind a tree and said she would tell his wife unless he transferred money into her account.

He sent over £3,500 to Banner and was then forced to pay a further £3,500.

Derby Crown Court confirmed today that Banner, who is still in prison, had gained £7,000 from her crimes, but will be forced to pay the nominal sum of £1 as she had "frittered away" the rest.

Prosecuting, Grace Hale said: "We have investigated her bank account and there's nothing hidden."

Recorder Michael Stephens said Banner had six months to pay the £1.
