Jess Glynne's Take Me Home to lead BBC Children In Need campaign

Updated

Singer Jess Glynne's latest track Take Me Home has been announced as the official single for this year's BBC Children In Need.

The song goes on sale today and will help raise money for the Children In Need charity.

Talking about the new song, Glynne said: "This is a song about the need to have someone who cares when you are at your most vulnerable.

"It's an emotional song for me and I have to admit it brings me to tears when I sing it live, likewise when I made the video. I hope it makes people realise that they should reach out to others at a time of need and I'm so excited for it to be part of BBC Children In Need. It's such a special cause."

She joins a long list of famous faces who have lent their voices to Children In Need over the years.

In 2013 the song was Ellie Goulding's How Long Will I Love You, and Girls Aloud also supported the charity in 2012 with Something New.

If Glynne's Children In Need single reaches the top spot on the singles charts, she will make history as the first British solo female to have had six number one singles.

Downloads of the song are immediately available, but hard copies will be released on November 13.
