Becky Watts trial: Pictures show cluttered 'murder scene'

Pictures showing the cluttered home where the body of Becky Watts was allegedly dismembered by her stepbrother and his girlfriend have been released.

Becky, 16, was murdered in her bedroom in Crown Hill, Bristol, by Nathan Matthews, 28, and Shauna Hoare, 21, prosecutors claim.

The pair are accused of targeting 5ft 1in Becky in a sexually motivated kidnap plot on February 19 this year, culminating in her death.

Her body was placed in the boot of their Vauxhall Zafira before being driven to their home in Cotton Mill Lane, Barton Hill, and dismembered.

Remains were discovered in a garden shed in Barton Court - 80 metres from their property - by police on March 3.

They were confirmed as Becky's by DNA taken from her toothbrush.

Today, images of Becky's home and Matthews and Hoare's property taken by police at the time of the teenager's disappearance, were released.

Pictures of outside Cotton Mill Lane show a modern, terraced property with a paved area.

Behind the door, piles of clutter fill the hallway, including a pram, toys, a fridge freezer, plastic bags and a cat crate.

The lounge is crammed with items - with pictures, toys, tyres and other possessions towering above a table and chairs.

There are rubbish bags, dirty crockery and cookware in the kitchen, with boxes and a suitcase on a wooden table.

A mattress is propped against the wall of the stairs, while the bathroom is littered with clothes, a cooker, microwave and bags.

But the bath - where Becky's body is said to have been dismembered - is noticeably clean and tidy, along with the tiles around it.

A scouring pad lies at the bottom of the white bath.

Inside Becky's family home, her bedroom has white walls, while her blinds and wardrobe are painted pink.

A table by her double bed has five candles on it.

There is a black binbag of clothes by a shoe rack filled with three pairs of trainers, black heels and six pairs of black boots.

A Sony speaker is on top of the shoe rack, along with train tickets. A shelving unit above contains make up, jewellery and bottles of perfume.

Messages of "good luck" , "we'll miss you" and "be happy" are scrawled on a white T-shirt, apparently from school friends, which hangs from the shelves.

Earlier, the jury of two men and 10 women were taken to the properties and the garden in Barton Court. The four defendants did not attend.

Matthews, of Hazelbury Drive, Warmley, South Gloucestershire, denies murder and conspiracy to kidnap.

He admits killing Becky, perverting the course of justice, preventing burial of a corpse and possessing a prohibited weapon.

Hoare, of Cotton Mill Lane, Bristol, denies murder, conspiracy to kidnap, perverting the course of justice, preventing burial of a corpse and possessing a prohibited weapon.

Donovan Demetrius, 29, of Marsh Lane, Redfield, Bristol, and James Ireland, 23, of Richmond Villas, Avonmouth, each deny a charge of assisting an offender.

Karl Demetrius, 29, and his partner Jaydene Parsons, 23, both of Barton Court, Bristol, have pleaded guilty to assisting an offender after the teenager's body was discovered in their shed.

Both maintain they were unaware of what the packages actually contained.
