Body of 64-year-old hiker found in Snowdonia

The body of a 64-year-old hiker has been found in Snowdonia.

Stephen Longfellow was walking in the area but had not been seen since last Sunday.

North Wales police and mountain rescue teams had been searching the area for Mr Longfellow, who was from Leeds, and discovered his body on Tryfan mountain late Friday afternoon.

A police spokesman said: "He was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor where he was later formally identified.

"The North West Wales Coroner has been informed."
