Meet Chesca Miles – singer, model and Britain's first professional female motorbike stunt rider.
She has been riding motorbikes since she was 14, but this weekend she will perform her first solo stunt show at the Santa Pod raceway in Northamptonshire.
She has only been practising solo stunts since last August, having worked before that as pillion stunt rider, and says that it has been tough trying to persuade bike riding men that she's up to the job, what with her other guises of singer and model.
She says that it has been tough: "The boys resent the fact that I am a woman who can ride a bike as well as or better than them. I love being on the catwalk and in front of the camera but not as much as being on a bike. Stunt work is not just about high-speed chases, it's also about control, balance and mastery of the machine."
Fortunately for Chesca her worst injury so far has been a broken toe from an errant go-kart at a show, and she manages to fit a part-time modelling career around three days a week of riding practice.
She is also busy recording her first album, which makes you wonder how she finds the time, even before you hear that she wants to get into film stunt work later this year.
