Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg is now richer than ever.

According to Forbes, Zuckerberg's net worth went up by more than $1.6 billion in one week.

This leaves him with a net worth of about $56.6 billion.

But what has caused this sudden jump? Increased revenues thanks to Facebook Live and the launch of a food delivery service.

Analysts are optimistic that the social media platform will continue to do well - the stock is trading at an all time high and the company is expected to bring in about $7 billion in revenue in the third quarter of 2016.

Forbes also reports that Zuckerberg is currently the fifth wealthiest person in the world and is now ranked fourth on the Forbes 400 - behind Microsoft's Bill Gates, Amazon's Jeff Bezos and Berkshire Hathaway's Warren Buffett.

However the publication predicts Zuckerberg's net worth will likely fall over the years with he and his wife promising to donate 99% of their wealth to improve education and wealth and to fund scientific research.
