Find out what auctioneers are really saying

Most people will have heard the lightning fast speech of an auctioneer, whether on television or in real life.

But the majority of the time it's impossible to understand what they're actually saying, because they are speaking so fast.

Fortunately now, thanks to the help of a real auctioneer, we finally know what they're saying in the 'auction chant'!

When slowed down, we find out the phrases they're saying are usually something along the lines of: "Would you give $200? Well, then give $100. I've got a hundred. Now, a hundred and a quarter."

The auctioneer is typically speaking logical sentences quickly with filler words mixed in - so if it sounds like gibberish, some of the time it's not actually making sense!

But given all this high-speed gibberish is tied to real money being spent, we think we'll stick with Amazon until we get the hang of it!
