Amazon's Black Friday bargain bonanza begins today!
Amazon UK's Black Friday shopping event kicks off today (Monday, 14 November) and runs for 12 days through to midnight on Friday, 25 November. Expect huge discounts on electronics, PCs and laptops, toys, pet supplies, DVDs, books, health, beauty, sport, fashion, jewellery and more.
What is Black Friday?
Black Friday starts the day after Thanksgiving in the US when retailers offer huge savings, heralding the start of the Christmas shopping season. It was introduced to the UK in 2010 by Amazon.co.uk with 300 deals. Last year Black Friday 2015 became Amazon.co.uk's busiest day ever with more than 7.4 million items sold, at a rate of around 86 items per second.
What kind of bargains can I get?
Amazon is offering huge discounts on thousands of items, including Lightning Deals that run for a fixed period of time with a finite number available (grab them while stocks last!) and Deals of the Day, which run for a 24-hour period.
