Skepta is performing on the Top Of The Pops Christmas special

Updated:

Christmas this year is set to be grimier than most - with the BBC announcing Skepta will be broadcast to the nation on Christmas Day.

The Tottenham MC is joining Fearne Cotton and Reggie Yates on Top Of The Pops alongside the likes of Clean Bandit and Anne-Marie, Olly Murs, James Arthur and Craig David for a celebration of this year's most popular music.

And surely he's got to rock this classic hat? It's Christmas after all.

The performance will round off a huge 2016 for Skepta, filled with numerous awards, the crowning point being his Mercury Prize win. Let's just hope he brings Mrs Adenuga with him again too.

For the New Year's Eve edition of TOTP, Nadia Rose is set for an appearance, joining Kideko, George Kwali and Sweetie Irie.

And while Skeppy's appearance on TOTP may seem a little unusual, we think for a lot of people it will be perfectly timed. Let's face it, there will be arguments happening around the table up and down the country, and Skepta has perfect lyric for the occasion...

"I don't know why man's calling me family all of a sudden..."
