The People v OJ Simpson director to helm new show on Biggie and Tupac's murders

Updated:

We've not had a big release about either Biggie or Tupac since 2009´s Notorious, and now three are coming along at once.

The latest announcement is Unsolved, a new television pilot to be directed and executive produced by The People v OJ Simpson director Anthony Hemingway and based on the experiences of former LAPD detective Greg Kading, according to Deadline.

Greg penned Murder Rap: The Untold Story Of Biggie Smalls And Tupac Shakur Murder Investigations and will be a consultant on USA Network's first venture into true crime drama. A documentary using archive footage was put together based on the book last year.

Anthony received an Emmy nomination for his directing work on the OJ drama released earlier this year, while the show as a whole won in its category.

Earlier this year, Johnny Depp was cast as Detective Russell Poole in the Brad Furman-directed Labyrinth, adapted from Randall Sullivan's book of the same name.

And the most anticipated of the lot, Tupac's biopic All Eyez On Me, is reportedly finished filming - although a release date has yet to be confirmed.
