Some of television's most glamorous stars scrubbed up to honour heroes at the 18th Daily Mirror's Pride of Britain Awards.

The X Factor judge Nicole Scherzinger adjusted the long skirt of her glamorous pink gown as she arrived at the ceremony, hosted by Carol Vorderman at Grosvenor House in central London.

The Only Way Is Essex star and former I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here contestant Ferne McCann provided a splash of colour in her high-necked dress, revealing a low-cut back when she turned around.

Categories at the ceremony include special recognition, emergency services, child of courage and TSB community partner, with the winners coming from across the country and from all walks of life.

Opera singer Katherine Jenkins was keen to meet fans who turned out for the awards, stopping to pose for selfies in her strapless black gown.

At the ceremony the Prince of Wales will present the Prince's Trust Young Achiever Award to Francesca Brown, 25, who overcame depression and family troubles to found an inspirational football development programme for girls called "Goals4Girls".
