While they are already freaking us out with tense trailers for the next series, the makers behind Channel 4´s Humans can definitely see the funny side of a life where you can order your own robot person.
In a charity spoof of the show - which airs on October 21 at 7pm - comedian and Inbetweeners actor Greg Davies takes on the role of a "courtesy Synth" named Bert.
Turning up to his owners' house in a scruffy state and sporting a stained shirt, he already stands out as something of a contrast to the physically perfect models, purchased as high-tech home helpers by characters in the real programme.
Hopes aren't improved when he hands his new family a garden gnome and, what looks like a burglar alarm, that has presumably been freshly ripped off the house.
The special edition episode is one of a number of events and campaigns featuring well known Channel 4 faces in support of Stand Up To Cancer - and will be a part of a whole evening of broadcasts dedicated to the charity next Friday.
The actual, real, second series of Humans comes to screens on October 30. It will see a return of the original cast, plus others, as the dramatic sci-fi plot thickens and branches out to the US.
