These incredible pictures show Trekkers are the ultimate cosplayers

Imagine Comic Con, but solely for your favourite TV show or movie series. This is what fans of Star Trek are enjoying this weekend as the Destination Star Trek Europe Convention gets under way, celebrating 50 years of the cult TV show and movie franchise.

The convention features merchandise stalls, interactive exhibits and parties to enjoy, as well as the opportunity to meet stars such as William Shatner and George Takei.

Fans rose to the occasion, sporting skillfully-applied prosthetic make-up and costumes to emulate their favourite characters at Birmingham NEC arena.

This lot definitely win our approval for their incredible face-transforming make-up.

We're envious of the props this lot are carrying.

It's all good fun, but you must remember to keep your cosplay maintained throughout the day.
