Selena Gomez has become embroiled in a war of words with ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber in an extraordinary moment that will go down in Instagram history.
And, following the singer's epic takedown, fans have been going wild on Twitter, causing #SelenaEndedJustinParty to appear in the top trends.
It all kicked off when Justin, 22, posted a series of photos of himself with alleged girlfriend Sofia Richie on the social networking site, before then threatening to make his account private over being sent messages filled with "hate".
He wrote: "I'm gonna make my Instagram private if you guys don't stop the hate this is getting out of hand, if you guys are really fans you wouldn't be so mean to people that I like."
Cue Selena, 24, then getting involved as she wrote a message in the comments, which was screengrabbed and shared by fans.
The singer opined: "If you can't handle the hate then stop posting pictures of your girlfriend lol - it should be special between you two only. Don't be mad at your fans. They love you. They were there for you before anyone."
Justin, who dated Selena on and off for years but is now spending a lot of time with Lionel Richie's daughter, then seemed to reply, with his apparent responses also screengrabbed and shared widely.
He is thought to have written to his former flame: "It's funny to see people that used me for attention and still try to point the finger this way. Sad. All love.
"I'm not one for anyone receiving hate," he allegedly continued. "Hope u all can be kind to my friends and each other. And yes I love my beliebers."
This was then followed by what appears to be another comment from Selena, which reads: "Funny how the ones that cheated multiples times, are pointing the finger at the ones that were forgiving and supportive, no wonder fans are mad. Sad. All love."
Selena then seemed to end it all with: "I'm done here, I have a whole bunch of cute fan mail to read.
It is not clear whether these later messages between the pair are legitimate or fabricated.
However, it has all given way to plenty of hilarious Twitter reaction, with many Justin fans siding with Come & Get It singer Selena as the general consensus is that she has won the war.
