To all those wishing, wanting, praying for a diss track from Eminem to Drake, it appears that - sadly - it won't be happening.
Excitement over the possibility of a fresh new hip-hop battle (after all, who didn't love the whole Drake versus Meek Mill and Eminem versus pretty much everyone beefs?) came after US radio show host Ebro Darden said that it was in the offing.
During his morning show on Hot 97, he said he had been talking to the Hotline Bling rapper about Joe Budden, his long-term rival and verbal sparring partner, something the musician found amusing.
He then went on to say: "I told Drake that I heard the rumour was Eminem was going to gear up to come after him."
"He laughed. He was like, 'That's not gonna happen'. He's like, 'He'd never do that. And if he did, I got something for him too'."
However, it wasn't long until Paul Rosenberg - who co-founded Eminem's Shady Records label back in 1999 - tweeted to dismiss such a thing.
In a message that had a back note of a deep sigh, he said it must be a "slow news day" before retweeting a post made by Drake way back in 2009 that read, "Eminem = Greatness".
This was followed by a disappointing message for those keen on new beef between Eminem and Drake, from radio host Ebro himself.
He wrote on the social networking site: "It was such a joke and people ran with it... Slow news day. Drake got too much respect for all that...
"Facts we was joking... Talked about in jest & fools jumped out the window. I ain't even think it was a big deal."
Indeed, Drake and Eminem have previously been on great terms, and in 2009 worked on the single Forever together along with rappers Kanye West and Lil Wayne.
Still, such dismissals failed to deter the good and great of the internet as people have reacted to the potential track perfectly.
