CBB star Saira Khan's husband has sleepless nights over 'bullying'

The husband of Celebrity Big Brother contestant Saira Khan has criticised her housemates, admitting that he has suffered sleepless nights since watching his wife being "bullied".

Steve Hyde slammed Geordie Shore star Marnie Simpson, 24, for being "really low" for exposing her breasts to his wife.

TV watchdog Ofcom received 79 complaints over the scene in which Marnie was accused of bullying Saira, 46, by flashing her, following a day of heated arguments in the house.

Steve told Loose Women that he had been upset by what has been going on in the Channel 5 show.

"It's been tough... firstly seeing her go through the show and frankly some of the bullying that she's been victim to. Because you feel so helpless... There's nothing I can do," he said.

He said that his wife - a Loose Women panellist - was "very independent", but added: "It's been really difficult seeing her being victimised."

He confessed: "I have to say that I've had sleepless nights and I'm the calm one in the relationship... I'm waking up every night, at three or four o'clock."

He said of Simpson's flashing: "The incident with Marnie, that was really low. I didn't like that."

Steve admitted he did worry when Saira said that she had been invited to enter the house.

"Initially my reaction was I'm not sure," he said. "It's going to be quite tough and you're going to be quite exposed."

He said of the couple's two children, aged eight and five: "They're missing her. I've got to manage the two of them. We're supposed to be going away and now Mummy's not coming with us.

"The children are not aware (she's on the show). They think Mummy's away filming and they are missing her. I have to manage the two of them and ... she can't call. They find that quite puzzling."

He added: "Her way of operating is to try and understand people... She's not playing any games... She's confident... Some of them have taken that the wrong way. They've taken it to be patronising when it's not.

"It's not just a generation gap it's a behavioural gap... to behave like that."

Saira previously revealed on Loose Women that her husband had been given a "hall pass" to sleep with other women when their marriage hit a dry patch.

But she later revealed on Celebrity Big Brother: "I would like to tell everybody that I am now having good sex."
