Former Blue singer Duncan James has made his Hollyoaks debut in an explosive new trailer.
In a clip advertising the Channel 4 soap's action-packed "Six Weeks of Summer", Duncan is shown in his first scenes as handsome policeman Ryan Knight.
The 38-year-old will make his first appearance on the show alongside girlfriend Amy Barnes (Ashley Slanina-Davies) and her father Mike Barnes (Tony Hirst), who are returning to the soap.
The trailer reveals a stormy summer where old secrets will cause chaos.
Nico Blake (Persephone Swales-Dawson) is shown confessing to friend Peri Lomax that she is a murderer.
The teenager has previously killed Trevor Royle (Greg Wood) and her grandfather Patrick Blake (Jeremy Sheffield) - and it looks like Patrick's body, hidden in a wall, may soon be found as police are shown breaking away the bricks.
Trapped in a bunker with Peri (Ruby O'Donnell), Nico reveals her secret - but she soon becomes angry, telling her friend: "You got me expelled, so now you have to pay."
Peri is terrified - and could Nico strike again?
The trailer also hints at major fallouts when Maxine Minniver (Nikki Sanderson) catches Warren Fox (Jamie Lomax) with Sienna Blake (Anna Passey); Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) tells boyfriend Joe Roscoe (Ayden Callaghan) that she wants to marry him; and John Paul McQueen (James Sutton) cheats on Scott Drinkwell (Ross Adams) again.
Duncan, who had hits including All Rise and One Love with boy band Blue, has previously tried his hand at acting, starring in the musicals Chicago and Legally Blonde.
However, this will be his first time starring in a soap.
He told the Press Association in May: "I've always loved the soaps, I mean who doesn't?
"It's part of the British institution, soap operas, so for me to come from a pop background to going into soaps is something I'm really excited about.
"I know there are a lot of soap stars that have crossed into the pop world, so I'm just doing it the other way around."
