Justin Timberlake and Anna Kendrick unveil new footage of DreamWorks animation Trolls at Comic Con

Music superstar Justin Timberlake brought some A-list star power to the first official day of Comic Con International as he unveiled footage from his new animation Trolls.

The Sexyback singer was joined by actress Anna Kendrick after the pair lent their vocal talents to the DreamWorks film, which is due for release in the UK in October.

From the creators of Shrek, the movie tells the story of a pair of mismatched trolls - voiced by Justin and Anna - who have to rescue their friends from troll-eating giants. British comedians Russell Brand and James Corden also voice characters in the film.

In an exclusive clip shown in Comic Con's 6,500-seater Hall H in San Diego, Anna's character Poppy is shown angering a troll called Branch, voiced by Justin, because she is singing while he tries to sleep.

After telling Poppy he likes "silence", she breaks into a rendition of The Sound Of Silence by Simon And Garfunkel.

The clip ends with Branch throwing Poppy's acoustic guitar in a fire.

Comic Con fans flocked to Hall H to catch a glimpse of Justin and Anna, with many arriving in Troll fancy dress.

The film is based on the toy with tall, neon hair and saw Justin serve as executive producer on the soundtrack, which features his hit song Can't Stop The Music.

Trolls is set for release in UK cinemas on October 21.
