Pregnant Stephanie Davis questioned bringing baby into 'toxic relationship'

Pregnant Celebrity Big Brother star Stephanie Davis has revealed her hesitation to bring a baby into the "toxic relationship" she has with the baby's father Jeremy McConnell.

The ex-Hollyoaks actress met Jeremy, a former Mr Ireland, in the reality TV house but their relationship broke down before she found out she was expecting a baby.

Jeremy has since said he would be requesting a paternity test.

Speaking on ITV's Loose Women, Davis was asked if she had considered not going through with the pregnancy.

She said: "At one point I got certain phone calls and completely broke down and was on my hands and knees and I couldn't take any more.

"I said in the house what I went through in the past and I thought he was the one to save me from that and never let me go through anything like that again.

"I lost it and thought I am reliving the same nightmare but worse, now I'm pregnant. I thought this isn't fair to bring a baby into such a toxic relationship."

She said Jeremy is "100%" the father or her child and admitted she "cried her eyes out" when she found out she was pregnant.

She said: "Jeremy wanted a baby with me and kept saying 'I want to get you pregnant', but looking at it outside the situation, it wasn't the right thing to do - but it just kind of happened and was a bit of a shock.

"I never would have got pregnant to do it alone and with it played out everywhere."

In a statement to the show, McConnell said: "Me and Steph broke up after numerous arguments and fights over insecurities and work schedules.

"In the month after we split, I saw videos online of her in bed with guys which is why I said I would ask for a test to prove I'm the dad. Having a baby won't fix what me and Steph had already tried to fix so many times."

Dressed in a blue off-the-shoulder dress, Stephanie showed off her growing baby bump to the hosts of the show and said she had visited a psychic - who told her she was expecting a boy.
