Hot weather is almost guaranteed to leave Brits grumbling, but this year the heatwave brought together the late comedian Caroline Aherne's fans in a wonderful way.
One of her most famous characters on The Fast Show was the weather presenter Poula on the segment "meteorologikos mit Poula", in which she always pronounced the weather to be "Scorchio".
Scorchio began trending on Twitter on Tuesday as fans paid tribute to her with the beloved catchphrase and claimed the great weather in memory of her.
